Pastor Wayne has a history with Boardman Baptist Church. He first attended here when he was three years-of-age and was saved and baptized here when he was seven, under the Reverend Jim Davis. He is a graduate of Boardman High School. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science degree at Youngstown State University he moved to Dallas, Texas to make his mark on the world.
His plans however, did not align with God's plans. He first joined Park Cities Baptist Church in the University Park area of Dallas. He met and married Kimberly Steele. When Kim was "with child" (daughter Sarah) they moved their membership to the Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and served under Pastor Dr. Jay Dennis. It was in this church and under Brother Jay's pastorate that Pastor Wayne received his call to the ministry.
After the birth of their second child (son Jay, yes he is named after Jay Dennis), Wayne enrolled in the Criswell College in Dallas and later graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity degree. Upon graduation he enrolled in the doctoral program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas where he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree.
Pastor Wayne has served on the staff at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church in Sunnyvale, Texas twice, and pastored the Ferguson Road Baptist Church in Dallas. Prior to moving back to Ohio he, Kim, and their family were members of Central Baptist Church in Crandall, Texas where Dr. Charles L. Wilson is pastor.
Wayne was raised in a Christian home and is passionate about serving his Lord Jesus Christ. His conviction is that the only way to change our culture and society for the better is to allow the Holy Spirit of God to change a person from the inside out. He is a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching pastor who stands unashamedly on the infallible, inerrant, inspired, and sufficient Word of the living God.
